Bred in the desert 1869 ABDUL AZIZ was presented by Constantinople (Turkey) Ottoman Sultan Abdul Aziz to a member of the retinue of Austrian Emperor Franz Joseph when the latter visited Constantinople on his way to the opening of the Suez Canal 1870 purchased for Babolna State Stud - Hungary by Major Friedrich Mayteni 1873 transferred to Mezohegyes, the parent stud of Babolna He was the sire at Babolna of the grey purebred Arabian mare 23 ABDUL AZIZ 1873 (x 96 DAHAMA O A 1853) and possibly of the purebred Arabian mare 62 ABDUL AZIZ 1873 (x DAHMA (no date) per Raswan Index #66) or (x 77 AGHIL AGA 1858 per Rashaka.a He also sired five Shagya Arabians at Babolna and one at Mezohegyes Proved to be of the highest excellence as a sire and of the ultimate in Arabian type. He had the nobility of the Arab, faultless gaits and enormous weight carrying capacity
